Feeders to be separated with underground cabling

There is no special provision for electricity in the budget. However, under the Power Sector Improvement Project, a provision of Rs 300 crore has been made as a share capital to implement the plan to separate the electric wires from underground and rural areas to agricultural and domestic feeders.

For this, financial support is being taken from Asian Development Bank (ADB). Apart from this, a provision of Rs 285 crore has been made for setting up pollution control plants in thermal power stations and taking the services of consultant.

The policy envisages setting a target of 10,700 MW of solar power generation by 2022 in collaboration with the private sector, citing the Solar Energy Policy 2017 issued to encourage solar energy.
